Wrap and Hot Dog Sausages

Objective

This activity stimulates the children’s kinaesthetic and tactile senses.

Instructions

  1. One child is the ‘sausage’ and lies down on a blanket.
  2. An adult asks the child if he/she wants tomato ketchup on the sausage. If the child answers, “Yes” the adult strokes the child from the legs up to the neck with his/her fingers.
  3. An adult asks the child if he/she wants mustard on the sausage, and if the child answers, “Yes” the adult pricks the child from the legs up to the child’s neck with his/her fingers.
  4. An adult asks the child if he/she wants crispy onion topping on the sausage, and if the child answers, “Yes” the adult gently presses the child from the legs up to the child’s neck with his/her fingers.
  5. The adult rolls the child in the blanket with the final presentation of the child as a hot dog sausage in a wrap.
