Make Shapes in the Snow

Objective

The children become familiar with various shapes by using their bodies to make shapes in the snow.

Instructions

  1. Draw various shapes, letters or numbers in the snow. For instance, when working on shapes, you can draw circles, triangles and squares. If the children are concerned with letters, you can draw different letters. Perhaps all the children can draw their letter? You can also work with numbers, for instance, throw a die and thereafter draw the number in the snow.

Tips

  • If you draw different shapes, numbers or letters in a large format, the children can run on the drawn shape, number or letter afterwards. For instance, run around a number eight, circle or an M. You can also play tag in the imprint. Remember, however, that it must be possible to run away from the tagger. This is not very easy to do with, for example, a circle, but it works if you turn the circle into a number eight.
